End poverty pay: Fight for a real living wage!
The Living Wage Foundation says that an hourly rate of £9.50 is the minimum required to have a basic standard of living (based on stable, full-time hours). Meanwhile, millions of workers on the so-called ‘National Living Wage’ of £8.72/hour increasingly live in poverty.
As retail reopens, organise to secure safety, decent pay and conditions!
Most non-food retail reopened on Friday 12th June and shopping centres will reopen on the 22nd June. It has to be asked, who has made the sacrifices during the pandemic, and who will pay the price for the push to reopen the sector?
